<概要/Course Content Summary>
This course provides a rigorous introduction to the field of international economics through the study of various topics including international trade, foreign direct investment, fragmentation, offshoring, balance of payments, and exchange rate determination. The course follows a lecture format but students are encouraged to make comments and ask questions within a discussion friendly atmosphere. Before taking this course, students are recommended to complete the following introductory courses: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Introduction to Finance.

After taking this course, students will have a good understanding of current theories in international trade and international macroeconomics that explain real world patterns of international trade, foreign direct investment and offshoring, and trends in foreign exchange markets.
