＜概要/Course Content Summary＞

This course is two folded: lectures and practice. The aim of the former is to give students enough information and knowledge to begin to read and interpret social science research papers that employ quantitative research methods， and that of the latter to give students enough skills to run a quantitative analysis on your own. But these two phases are not independent from each other but interactive. Full attendance with enough preparation is preferred.

Students will be able to read and interpret social science papers where quantitative research methods are employed through the lectures， and also to run a quantitative analysis on their own after the practice of the statistical software.

Participation	50%	Attendance and attitude
Presentation	50%	Presentation on assignment

Full attendance with the right attitude is recommended for the systematic comprehension of social research and statistics. Each participant is expected to give a presentation on given assignment.
