<概要/Course Content Summary>
This course introduces students to the field of qualitative research and prepares them in the skills, techniques, and knowledge to design and undertake research using qualitative methods. It provides an overview of qualitative research design and covers various research methods and approaches including participant observation, in-depth interviews, and visual ethnographic data. Students will learn about data collection, description, analysis, and interpretation. They will also be asked to think critically about the ethical issues present in qualitative research. *This course will be offered through live streaming (using Zoom) during the scheduled time period. Classes will be recorded and made available for a limited time to students who are unable to attend classes. However, as in-class discussions and exercises are an important component, this course is recommended for students who are available during the scheduled time period.
