<概要/Course Content Summary>

Students with basic communication skills are given a further challenge to develop in-deepth learning by giving oral presentations using powerpoint after reading certain articles. English articles on topics such as education, diet, economics, sociology, habits, smoking, drug costs and development, etc. are given to students to read before being orally presented to their peers in class. A Q-&-A session follows each presentation. Additionally, listening parties are required to summarise each presentation, and submit the summary at the end of each class. The class therefore aims to nurture and boast basic english language skills to higher levels of communication.

<到達目標/Goals,Aims>

The attainment target is B1 level (for listening and speaking abilities) of CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) specifically as follows:
* Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters
* Can described experiences and events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions, and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. By supporting and arguing against published contents, students learn in-depth reading and critical thinking with a research-based analytical approach. Students will acquire knowledge by reading and doing research study as a team, and further learn presentation skills or public speaking to properly deliver their thoughts. This in turn enhances their English communication abilities in future endeavors. Students therefore learn to have a higher confidence in English communication and participate in projects based on teamwork and in-depth research work.
