＜概要/Course Content Summary＞

This course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills of morphological， phonological and phonetic analysis. And as a result of comparing the analyses of English and Japanese， students will understand some universal traits of languages. Students will for a change observe a simplex word as a sequence of arbitrary combination of sounds， and will analyze acoustically the audible sound into even smaller units. Students will also record their own English pronunciation to analyze acoustically to compare with and contrast to the model speech using spectrograms to practice and improve their own English pronunciation.

Students will familiarize themselves with practical (and some theoretical) approaches of linguistics. 　
Students will analyze and practice their own pronunciation of English with a downloadable speech analysis software.

平常点(出席，クラス参加，グループ作業の成果等)	20%	You have to attend more than 2/3 of the total classes.
期末レポート試験・論文	40%
クラスで発表など	20%	You have to choose an English accent to analyze and perform the pronunciation
