<概要/Course Content Summary>
This course aims to train first-year graduate students to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to write an M.A. thesis concerning ethnic and cultural studies that meets global standards. Through the interactive process of "learning by doing," which involves group activities and actual practice, students will learn the intellectual route of inquiry that will enable them to attain an original thesis, theoretical frameworks, and methodologies for data collecting.
<到達目標/Goals,Aims>
1) Students will learn how to come up with a research question so as to form and structure an original argument. 2) Students will read theory-based materials, following consultation with the teacher concerned. 3) Students will participate in an in-class debate, exchanging viewpoints and ideas. 4) Students will present their work in front of their peers. 5) Students will learn how to write at a level accepted by academic communities outside of Japan.
