<概要/Course Content Summary>
The course will examine various forms of education including formal education and nonformal education from a gender perspective. It will look at the issue of gender gap in education and its impacts as well as policies and civil society activities addressing the issue particularly in the international community. It will introduce theories in critical pedagogy, feminist pedagogy, and peace and human rights education.

Students will be able to describe a gender analysis of education. Students will be able to develop their own understanding of the impacts of gender in education. Students will be able to explore the relationship among gender equality, education and international development.
