<概要/Course Content Summary>

Today, software engineer (SE) is strongly required both “skill to propose a business solution”and “skill to design it.” This lecture combines both business sense and skill of technology, and aims at nurturing personnel who contribute to Management of Technology (MOT). Therefore, the lecture is composed mainly of areas related to the basis of business theory, visualization of business models,application of patterns to business models, design of business models, and formulation of management strategies. Understand and acquire the fundamental theory of management strategy and marketing domain as dealt with business school, and representative framework and how to use it through practical case analysis of domestic and foreign companies. In particular, in this lecture, pay attention to "Canvas" introduced in "Business Model Generation". "Canvas" is a method that companies are increasingly adopting as a framework that can analyze business models while visualizing it. In order to make learning more specific, we analyze cases such as EC industry, key manufacturing industry, publishing industry, health care industry etc. In addition, if students who are not Japanese native speakers participate, lecture is conducted using English and Japanese together.

<到達目標/Goals,Aims>

(1) Learn basic theories on management, marketing and accounting. 
(2) Design business models, visualize them, and learn how to form consensus among stakeholders.  
(3) Students will be able to study business problems from the perspective of both managers and IT engineers. 
(4) Learn the knowledge and techniques necessary for planning management strategies of companies that acquire Management of Technology frameworks and technologies as the core of the business.

The lecture will proceed on the premise that you purchase the text. 
The schedule of the lecture and the cases of companies to pick up may be changed according to the progress situation.  

<成績評価基準/Evaluation Criteria>

Participation (attendance) and activity attitudes to the themes  50%  Latency is strictly prohibited. In case of absence, declare it beforehand. Evidence is required in the case of public absences. 
Results of mini exercises  50%   

This lecture has no regular exam. In the second half of each lecture, you will have some modeling exercises on the target businesses. By drawing the business system (not only the computer system) as a model, you will obtain many awareness. They are extremely important awareness for business analysts and designers. In addition, we will ask you to submit your models or other exercise artifacts on each lecture, but it is not so hard things. However, please be attention that depending on the depth of your effort to the exercises, your skill level will be limited.
