Writing Skills for Effective Communication

<概要/Course Content Summary>

One of the requirements of graduating from an IMBA course is the submission of a master thesis. Yet writing it in a well-structured manner is one of the most demanding challenges students face. This course explains the process from start to finish and elaborates the most important sections. It is required for participating students to already have an idea of a research topic as all exercises are linked to it (this topic doesn't necessarily need to be the final thesis topic). This class can be considered a workshop with content ranging from drafting an introduction and literature review, selecting and critically analyzing suitable sources, designing questionnaires, to effectively summarizing using accurate reference methods. The final report constitutes a 10-pages thesis-draft of the sections Introduction, Lit. Review, and Methodology and has to be presented in class as well.

Upon completing the course students will have a good familiarity with the formalities of writing a thesis and be able to present their research findings in a clear and structured manner.

小レポート  50%  5x10% (report or short presentation) 
期末レポート試験・論文  35%  Final report 
クラスで発表など  15%  Presentation of final project
