<概要/Course Content Summary>

Few developments in human history have changed the world as thoroughly and as rapidly as globalization. This seminar focuses on the impact that globalization has had on education as well as the way in which education has shaped globalization, focusing in particular on the current environmental crisis. The triple objective of the two-semester course will be 1) to introduce students to themes and theories essential to the study of globalization, education, and the environment, 2) to create opportunities for students to become socially active in the field of environmental education, and 3) to prepare students to write graduation theses on a topic related to globalization and education.
