<概要/Course Content Summary>
I will consider together why the students Japan’s foreign policy and defense policy on each important item. On foreign policy, I will proceed from USA, Russia, China, Taiwan, North Korea, Republic of Korea, ASEAN, Australia, India and to the Middle East. And then I will draw attention of the students to the issues of defense policy: nuclear deterrence, space, cyber, defense industry, energy and others.

The students are expected to learn how to think strategically. This is the essence of leadership not only for the professional diplomats or the military, but also for any CEO of companies or great statesmen.

Outside the class, it is recommended to read the classics including Mencius, Suizu, Buddhist classics, Bible. History books will be helpful to understand the contents of the course. To know the atmosphere of each era, relevant novels and movies are useful.
