<概要/Course Content Summary> This will be a rigorous, seminar-style class intended to explore the closely related topics of: (1) identity and how it is defined and authenticated through legal and regulatory structures, and (2) the growing importance of data privacy legislation and their impact on business. Students will be required to do research into and report on data protection regimes around the world. It will be a high level class that assumes students have a certain level of knowledge about law, legal concepts, business and comparative law. Students should be prepared to do extensive reading in English (and Japanese, if possible), as well as engage in discussions, give presentations and write a suitable seminar thesis. <到達目標/Goals,Aims> By taking this class students should expect to achieve <授業計画/Schedule>
