＜概要/Course Content Summary＞

The students actively learn research and writing skills through comparative analysis of case law of Supreme Court of Japan with the law of students’ own countries and discussing on it. For that purpose students will be introduced to Japanese Judicial System and accessibility to Japanese legal sources (Statutes, Case Law database and Books in English which are still limited but useful). 　
Attendance is mandatory and each student will be required to make a presentation on comparative case analysis at least once during the semester and to submit it as a case note in writing. 　
It may be preferable that students bring laptop/tablet for note-taking or searching information related to class work.

＜到達目標/Goals,Aims＞

The students' goal in this course is to learn and improve research and writing skills which is needed for law related thesis by preparing the presentation and discussion, and to get basic knowledge of Japanese Legal System.

＜授業計画/Schedule＞

Grades are based on weekly attendance, presentation and discussion (50%) and a completed case note in writing which is due on 31 of January 2020 (50%).
