In this course students will examine and discuss some of the fundamentals of American law and the American legal systems， such as the common law case system， federalism， the jury system， litigation and trial procedures and legal authorities and sources. The exact topics to be studied will be selected based on the students' interests.

Students will be graded based on an examination， including essays (75%); class participation， preparation， effort and attitude (20%); and attendance (5%).
