<概要/Course Content Summary> This class is designed as a general introduction to the Romantic period -- to Romantic literature, and possibly to Romantic visual arts and Romantic music, too. The syllabus given below is just a speciman of how the class could be taught. The actual syllabus will be adjusted depending on the interests of students taking the class. For example, if students are interested in Jane Austen, one of her novels will be included in the class. By the end of the course you should have a good idea of the literature and culture of early Romanticism. <到達目標/Goals,Aims> You should develop a good idea of what we mean by the Romantic period, and of some of the major literary achievements of that period. <授業計画/Schedule>
As noted above, this is just a speciman schedule and may be changed, depending on students' interests. <成績評価基準/Evaluation Criteria>
