◇Making Sense of the Global Economy

<概要/Course Content Summary>

Everrthing is global. We are all global. Not a day passes without some reference to globalization.Yet what does it all actually mean? What makes the global economy global? There is nothing more dangerous than a keyword that has acquired a life of its own. The moment the word is uttered everyone beocmes brain dead. In this course we will try to remedy this situation and make true sense of what a globalized economy is supposed to be. 
Inserted throughout this course are a number of courses where we take up the really topical issues of the day to see how we can make sense of them and put them into perspective. These classes come under the title of "Feeling the Wind". Other classes will focus on the main structures and players that make the global economy go round and the how and the why of our journey towards where we are today.

<到達目標/Goals,Aims>

This course aims to enhance a better understanding of the global economy. The course attempts to put the global age into historical perspective so that we may become able to better understand today and to see forward into tomorrow.

Each class will be a story of its own.But it will also be an episode in a series drama on the global economy.You are dramatis personae. Lively performances are sought from all.

<成績評価基準/Evaluation Criteria>

Report submission  40%  Creativity and critical acumen 
Contribution to the class  40%  Probing mind, concentration adn eloquence 
Regular homework  20%  All of the above 

Participants are encouraged to think and speak in their own words. Willingness to serve each other well in terms of intellectual stimulus is expected.
